The fourth cycle of peace negotiations will take place in Caracas, Venezuela from Aug. 14 to Sept. 4.

On Friday, the negotiating delegations of the Colombian Government and the guerrilla of the National Liberation Army (ELN) announced that two commissions are preparing the protocols for the bilateral ceasefire and the participation of society in the peace process.

Since June 20, the commission in charge of drafting the protocols has been in session in Havana, Cuba, where the "bilateral, national, and temporary ceasefire agreement" was signed.

In Bogota, another commission is currently preparing the composition of the National Participation Committee, the institution in charge of energizing the design of society's participation in the peace process.

Both commissions are expected to finish their work on July 6. These issues were addressed during the third cycle of peace negotiations between the Colombian government and the ELN, which met in Cuba.

The tweet reads, "There is lullaby in heaven! The iconic singer of 'Paz para Colombia' today raises her voice to eternity. We regret the departure of Alba Elena Aramburo, singer-songwriter of La Roceria and Mi Canalete, among other songs of her valuable legacy. Thank you, rest in peace."

This cycle began on May 2 and ended on June 9 with the signing of a ceasefire, which will begin after an adjustment period and will initially last 180 days from August 3.

As explained by the negotiating parties, the ceasefire process will begin with a first phase of enlistment until July 6, in which the order will be given to stop the armed offensives.

This is the longest ceasefire agreed to date between the Government of Colombia and the ELN. The next cycle of negotiations between the ELN and the Government of Colombia will take place in Venezuela from August 14 to September 4.
