Crowds Welcome Lula Tour in Minas Gerais, Brazil

IN PICTURES: Luiz Inacio "Lula" da Silva kicked off the new phase of his “Lula Around Brazil” caravan.

Former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio "Lula" da Silva launched his newest caravan campaign in the interior state of Minas Gerais, southeast of Brazil.

Lula's scheduled tour of Minas Gerais will comprise visits to seven regions and 14 cities. It will continue until Oct. 30.

The politician left office with a record approval rating of 83 percent and continues to broaden his lead in the upcoming 2018 presidential election.
