On Friday, an Anadolu Agency correspondent said that members of the group, which calls itself "Danske Patrioter" (Danish Patriots), waved anti-Islam banners and chanted insulting slogans against Islam.

Followers of the group threw the Iraqi flag and the Quran on the ground and stomped on them. They also posted a live video on the group's Facebook account of the attack that targeted the Quran.

The group said it carried out the attack in protest against the attack on the Swedish embassy in Baghdad.

The group carried out its attack amid strict security measures taken by the police.

It is noteworthy that the group had previously attacked the Holy Quran and the Turkish flag in front of the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen last January.

On Thursday, Silwan Momica tore up a copy of the Quran and the Iraqi flag in front of the Baghdad embassy in Stockholm, in a second incident by the same person after the first in late June. According to AA, the Swedish authorities allowed him to target Muslim sanctities.

On Wednesday/Thursday night, Iraqi security forces dispersed hundreds of demonstrators who stormed the main gates of the Swedish embassy in Iraq in response to police in Stockholm sanctioning another planned burning of the Quran.
