Venezuela's Constituent Assembly Approves Anti-Hate Law

Venezuela's National Constituent Assembly, ANC, has approved the Constitutional Law Against Hate, for Peaceful Coexistence and Tolerance in its latest session in Caracas.

The legislative document is made of 25 articles that include the principles, norms, duties and rights that all citizens across the country must fulfill to guarantee a peaceful coexistence among Venezuelans.

The president of the ANC, Delcy Rodriguez, explained the importance of this law for the future of the country.

"Venezuela is going to dress up with hope," Rodriguez said.

"From this plenipotentiary power, we will give the country a constructive law for peaceful coexistence, for tolerance between human beings and love among Venezuelans."

She said the main objective of the law is to stop the hate and violence campaign promoted by extremist sectors of the right-wing Venezuelan opposition and to seek reunification, harmony and peace for the country.

This law was one of the proposals that President Nicolas Maduro presented to the ANC.
