The official indicated that the Truth Commission, which is in charge of people belonging to political groupings involved in crimes, will be in charge of implementing the benefits for people currently under trial and those who already committed actions against the constitution.

He also explained that during the meeting with the regional governments two points were discussed, the first was to highlight governance and mutual recognition.

The second was the search for cooperation strategies in order to help meet the needs of the people, and also a request for the cessation of aggression and blockades against the Venezuelan people, in order to enable the purchase of goods.

For her part, the governor of the state Táchira, Laidy Goméz, said that as a result of the meeting held with the national chief executive in the next 24 hours, the release of jailed politicians will begin.

She added that they will be present at the time of the release to accompany those who will be set free while stressing that at the meeting they did not propose a selective release of jailed politicians.

Those jailed are behind bars for inciting political violence during the violent protests (guarimbas) of the years 2014 and 2017.
