Sala was accused of committing the alleged crimes of illicit association, fraud against the State and extortion. This case investigated the alleged diversion of funds destined for housing construction by cooperatives and social organizations.
In addition, the immediate arrest of Patricia Cabana, Ivan Altamirano and Miguel Angel Sivila was also ordered and who will now be sentenced to seven years in prison.
The trial began on July 23, 2018, and some 104 witnesses testified, however, Sala's defense has denounced irregularities during the trial.
"During the submissions, the lack of evidence and a series of nullities that were seen in the process have been demonstrated, this is a sentence that is not sound," Roth reported.
In addition, she said that first, she needs to go through all instances within the province of Jujuy and then appear before the Supreme Court of Justice and, if necessary, reach the international courts.
