The Venezuelan president condemned Mauricio Macri's censorship of teleSUR.

The Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro declared that the government of Mauricio Macri in Argentina would not make teleSUR disappear, after the right-wing administration announced the withdrawal of the channel from cable packages, a measure announced yesterday.

Maduro denounced the Argentine right for attacking the channel, founded and funded by multiple Latin American states, alluding to the human rights abuses that occurred that during the last military dictatorship of their country, where 30,000 people were forcibly disappeared.

"They can't make teleSUR disappear. If they prohibit the channel in Argentina, millions of of Argentines will watch it on the internet, on social media, they aren't going to kick out or disappear teleSUR," Maduro said.

"teleSUR will continue bringing the truth, defending the true freedom of expression of the people, in the face of this attack from the right, emboldened by its time in the spotlight", the president said.

It speaks well of teleSUR that the government of Mauricio Macri would want to censor them. [teleSUR] tells the truth, and it frightens them.
