Xiao Jiguo shot to fame through the social media platform Wechat to advertise himself as the "first Chinese Obama."

When Barack Obama leaves the White House on Jan. 20, one of the people who may be most affected is an impersonator a continent away in China, shown in EPA images made available on Monday.

IN DEPTH:
Trump's Inauguration

Xiao Jiguo, a Chinese actor who became famous in his country due to his resemblance to the outgoing U.S. president, may have to face the end of an important chapter in his life once President-elect Donald Trump takes office.

Born in 1986 in Sichuan Province, Xiao was working as a security guard in a factory in Guangzhou when he chanced upon a portrait of Obama and a colleague told him he held a close resemblance to the 44th president of the United States.

Xiao saw an opportunity to fulfill his dreams of becoming a singer and quit his job in 2012 to move to Beijing to pursue his new career.

Announcing himself as the "first Chinese Obama," he immediately attracted the attention of advertising agents, who invited him to lead an ad in Canton.

Now Xiao, who does not speak English but spouts an unintelligible "fake English" language when he imitates Obama, has a score of films to his credit and a good number of projects in sight.
