The President of Venezuela’s National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, denounced what he described as direct threats from the White House, accusing the U.S. government of attempting to sow terror in Venezuelan streets through destabilizing tactics and politically motivated accusations.

Speaking during the Great Anti-Imperialist March for Peace, Rodríguez declared: “Let them continue with their threats. We will continue with the people in the streets, with our words, and alongside Nicolás Maduro Moros, who has inspired global solidarity.
The world knows what Maduro is made of.” He emphasized that Venezuela has defeated foreign interference “in every arena—electoral, social, and economic—even when sanctions were imposed against our people.”
Rodríguez warned that Washington has now resorted to what he called “the most criminal of dossiers,” alleging that U.S.-backed actors have plotted acts of terrorism, including placing explosives in public squares to target children and provoke bloodshed.
“Once again, they miscalculated,” he said. “They underestimated the strength of a leader like Nicolás Maduro and the indomitable spirit of a people descended from the liberators of Latin America.”
The parliamentary leader condemned what he described as a series of violations of international law and the right of nations to self-determination. He asserted that President Maduro “will never kneel before them,” and that this defiance is precisely why he is under attack.
Rodríguez also criticized the U.S. for its role in the global drug trade, stating: “The country with the highest number of drug consumers on the planet attacks one of the nations that has most actively fought narcotrafficking.” He recalled that Venezuela’s anti-drug efforts intensified after President Chávez expelled the DEA, which Rodríguez labeled “the world’s leading drug traffickers.”
He highlighted Venezuela’s record in drug seizures and prosecutions, claiming that few countries can match its achievements in combating organized crime.
“Those responsible for these crimes against the Venezuelan people will face justice. Their destiny is prison,” Rodríguez concluded. “We will continue to raise the flags of resistance and dignity.”
