Snow Volleyball Night is scheduled for Feb. 14 and will feature Olympic medalists from the beach and indoor versions of the sport.

Pyeongchang Winter Olympics will include a snow volleyball exhibition event, at the behest of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), during the upcoming games in South Korea.

The international governing body is seeking to have the sport permanently added to the winter games roster. If the association manages to successfully install 'volleyball on snow', it would become the only sport to be included in both the summer and winter Olympics.

"It is a fantastic setting for us to showcase snow volleyball," FIVB President Ary Graca said.

"We are very excited about the prospect of this new sport which will provide an opportunity for a new demographic to enjoy volleyball. The FIVB will reveal its plan for developing snow volleyball all over the world starting from the 2018 to 2019 winter season and onwards.

"We believe that volleyball is now accessible to everyone, from the summer to the winter, from the beach to the mountains. It is our mission to be the world's number one family sport, and snow volleyball brings us closer to this goal."

The exhibition event, Snow Volleyball Night, is scheduled for Feb. 14 and will feature Olympic medalists from the beach and indoor versions of the sport.

Three-time Olympic medallist and three-time world champion Giba, three-time Olympic medallist Emanuel, and two-time Olympic medallist Vladimir Grbić of Serbia are listed among the stars who are scheduled to take part in the event.

Snow volleyball, like its beach counterpart, comprises of two-person teams.

Currently, there are about 17 European countries hosting national snow volleyball championships.
