Venezuelan Film Wins First Prize in Biarritz Film Festival

The Venezuelan film “La Familia” has won the Hug prize for Best Feature at the Biarritz Festival of Latin American Cinema in France.

The film by Venezuelan director Gustavo Rondon Cordova was awarded the prize at a ceremony in Biarritz.

The film explores the relationship between a father and son as they confront the surrounding violence.

“La Familia” premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, making it the first Venezuelan feature film to be included in the selection.

Cordova received funding from Venezuela’s National Autonomous Cinematography Center to make the film.

“La Familia” is the director’s sixth feature film.
