The 13th edition of the Venezuelan International Book Fair, Filven, will commemorate the 100th anniversary of Russia's October Revolution, AVN reported.

Filven is set to take place from Nov. 9th to the 19th in various venues throughout Caracas, including museums, universities and performance theatres. The festival’s theme is “Read What We Are.”

The event will examine socialism’s history and future trajectory across the world in the context of the October Revolution. The historical event was a nationwide mobilization of poor farmers and factory workers across Russia who defeated a provisional government after ousting centuries of Tsarist rule. Their rallying call was "peace, land and bread."

Filven will also pay tribute to Alberto Rodriguez Carucci, the founder Venezuela’s Sunrise Cultural Fund, and the National Artisanal Fair. Book presenters include Vladimir Acosta, who will debut his book "The Monster in its Bowels," and Douglas Rico, who will present his new book "For Your Security."

Venezuela’s 14th World Festival of Poetry will be held simultaneously and also honors the revolution. This event will take place in various cities throughout the country with national and international presenters.

The poetry festival will honor notable Venezuelan poet Blas Perozo Naveda. The former journalist and Ph.D. in literature has published several poetry books including "Cain," "Infamous" and "The River Light." He told Panorama that he was both “surprised” and “dizzy” when he heard the news of his nomination.
