The Venezuelan electoral commission sent the invitation to the UN and now to Caricom to form an Electoral Accompaniment Mission in the presidential elections.
The head of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Tania D'amelio, informed that the Caribbean Community (Caricom) was invited to attend the next presidential elections in the country as an international electoral accompanier.

D'amelio explained that Caricom "is the second international organization to receive an invitation" so that it complies with an Electoral Accompaniment Mission.
She also explained that the ambassador of Haiti in Venezuela received the invitation from the president of the CNE, Tibisay Lucena, who is in charge of electoral planning.

On the other hand, the head of the CNE confirmed that they are complying with the Agreement of Democratic Coexistence established in the Dominican Republic with the Government and the Venezuelan opposition.
