Dozens of people in Argentina are protesting in Buenos Aires' emblematic Plaza de Mayo to reject the visit of Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, calling him “killer of teachers and students.”

The protest was organized by the University Federation of Buenos Aires and also features the participation of Mexicans living in Argentina.

A flyer with the picture of Peña Nieto and Argentine President Mauricio Macri shaking hands has been circulating on social networks, "Get out of here Peña Nieto... you're a killer of teachers and students," it reads.

The Mexican president has been received in the same way across the world, especially after the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa students in 2014 and most recently for the killing of at least 11 people during teacher protests in the southern state of Oaxaca.

Conservative Macri will host an official ceremony to welcome his Mexican counterpart at the executive headquarters known as the Casa Rosada, which sits at the eastern end of the Plaza de Mayo, where protesters are gathered in order to make Peña Nieto to notice their presence.

Last month Peña Nieto visited the Canadian capital of Ottawa, where he attended the North American Leaders Summit, and upon his arrival at the Prime Minister’s office a group of protesters started to chant “murderer” at him.

Peña Nieto is expected to discuss bilateral trade relations with Macri. However, the Mexican leader is not expected to discuss the widespread violence and human rights violations blighting his country.
