Nicolás Maduro: Venezuela 'Example of Maturity and Awareness to World'

On Christmas Eve, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro sent a message of appreciation to the population for the victories achieved in 2017, as well as the example of maturity and awareness given to the world. 

"Let all our admiration be for our people, all my gratitude for the courage that we all show together to face obstacles and intentions to attack our peace and our future (...) We give an example with humility to the whole planet of our maturity and consciousness", said the leader in his Twitter account.

In addition, he recalled that in this year "the enemies of peace tried everything to disrupt our unwavering vocation for freedom", but responded with the force of truth and attachment "to the deepest desires of true independence, progress and Union".

"With the election of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) we won peace, we also gain our right to prosperity, to the growth of our democracy," the head of state reiterated.

He also referred to a statement by Comandante Hugo Chávez about "making his heart an award " to place it in the chest of Venezuelans, who should be proud to hold it after the challenges assumed throughout the year.

For 2018, the president affirmed that he awaits his arrival "with its load of victories and love, which will be the year in which we will definitively conquer the future".
