Meet the 106-Year-Old Indian Granma and Youtube Celebrity Chef

Her Youtube channel 'Country Foods' started in February this year has amassed 279,000 followers and over 48,000,000 views.

In a few short months, a 106-year-old Indian lady from the rural part of Andhra Pradesh located in the southern part of India has become a Youtube celebrity for her country style preparations.

While there are many professional Indian chefs known for making sumptuous Indian meals, this elderly woman, affectionately called "Mastanamma," has become known for taking the food preparations outside the confines of the kitchen and to nature, using authentic traditional techniques that are part of the rural lifestyle in India.

Her Youtube channel 'Country Foods' started in February this year has garnered 279,000 followers and over 48,000,000 views. Her grandson shoots the videos, while she prepares delicacies unique to the region. 

Some of her most popular dishes are Mutton Biryani (rice), watermelon chicken, homemade fried chicken, banana fry and fish fry, among others. 

In one of her Youtube videos, she shares parts her life, telling viewers she got married at 11 years of age and never went to school. When she was younger, she liked swimming in the river,  she said in the video.

"Once, two guys who were brothers teased me in my village a long time ago...when one of them touched me, I threw him in the river."  

When the other brother came seeking help, she said, "How dare he touch me. If you ask me to save him, I'll throw you in the river too." 

Confident at 106 years of age, she said, "If I start any work, success will come to me...nobody cooks like me in my family."
