The president of the Commission of People and Neighborhoods of the Constituent Assembly, Jesus Ramirez, told EFE that he received nearly 1,000 minutes from Indigenous assemblies held in Mexico City.
Ramirez added that the commission only expected 200 minutes.
More than 90 percent of the results of the Indigenous assemblies referenced rights already enshrined in three articles of the constitution, said Ramirez.
The deputy added that they will ask for an extension to deliver their opinion on Jan. 23. The city’s constitution is expected to be ready on Jan. 31.
