Miller, a policy advisor of Trump’s, has been a driving force behind many hard-line immigration policies like the family separations last year. He has advocated for closing the U.S.-Mexico border completely.
In a string of tweets scorning the Trump administration’s immigration policies, Omar called Miller a “white nationalist” and expressed concern over what a “tougher” Homeland Security secretary could mean.
“Stephen Miller is a white nationalist. The fact that he still has influence on policy and political appointments is an outrage,” she tweeted Monday afternoon.

Miller, a Jewish, far-right political activist and Trump’s senior advisor for policy, once said, “I would be happy if not a single refugee foot ever again touched America’s soil,” according to former White House advisor Cliff Sims, Splinter News reported.
According to Miller's uncle David Glosser, dozens of his own family members have condemned him for "inexcusable cruelty."
In response to Omar's tweet, the president said "'What’s completely unacceptable is for Congesswoman [sic] Omar to target Jews, in this case Stephen Miller.'"
Supporters of Omar have said accusations of anti-Semitism against the Muslim representative diminish the genuine ugliness of real expressions of hate against Jewish people.
“Inappropriate accusations of anti-Semitism masks the ugliness of the real thing,” Perry Gershon, a Democratic businessman said of one of Omar's most voracious critics, Representative Lee Zeldin.
