Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah blamed Israel for the assassination of Hezbollah commander Samir Kuntar, a day after he was killed in an attack that the resistance movement has attributed to Israel.
"Samir is one of us and a commander of our resistance and it is our right to retaliate for his assassination in the place, time and a way we see appropriate. We will exercise this right God willing." Nasrallah said.

Kuntar was buried in Dahia, southern Beirut Monday, with Hezbollah officials releasing a statement saying the “Israeli enemy will pay for the assassination of Kuntar."
Israeli media reported that three missiles landed in northern Israel after being fired from Lebanon Sunday. No injuries were reported. The Israeli regime immediately responded with artillery fire into southern Lebanon.
Kuntar died when missiles struck a residential building in a crowded neighborhood of Damascus Saturday night. While Tel Aviv has not claimed responsibility for the assassination, Israeli authorities have welcomed the death in a public statement.

Kuntar was jailed in Israel for his part in a 1979 raid in Israel that killed four people. During that time he was a member of the Palestine Liberation Front. He was repatriated to Lebanon in 2008 in a prisoner swap between Hezbollah and Tel Aviv.
In a will left by Kuntar, he reminds Hezbollah of the “responsibility to avoid being dragged into a battle, the timing and place of which have been determined by the enemy.”
