Spain's president told Donald Trump he'd make a good "interlocutor" with Latin America. Evo Morales of Bolivia called him out.

Bolivian President Evo Morales told Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy that "Latin America does not need interlocutors," given the offer made by the latter to U.S. President Donald Trump in a telephone conversation.

"With all due respect to President Rajoy, Latin America does not need interlocutors,” wrote the Bolivian president in his official Twitter account. “These are different times, these are times of sovereignty.”

Rajoy and Trump held their first phone conversation Tuesday — for a total of 15 minutes — since the conservative arrived at the White House, where they exchanged views on bilateral relations, security and the economy.

The Spanish president told Trump that Spain, "with a stable government and an economy that’s growing at more than 3 percent,” is in the best position to be an interlocutor for the United States with Europe, Latin America, North Africa and the Middle East.
