A major earthquake measuring 6.2 in magnitude struck Yemen on Sunday, according to a report by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

There have been no immediate reports of any damage or casualties, neither were any tsunami warnings issued. The quake struck some 213 kilometers north-west of the Socotra island in the Aden Gulf.
