Israeli Summer Camp Holds Firearms Training for Young Boys

A summer camp became an army training camp in Israel, as elementary school students underwent a firearms training exercise at a Samarian summer camp for children, located in an illegal settlement in the Yakir settlement in the Israeli-occupied West Bank

According to testimonies, boys under 10 years old were trained to disarm M16 rifles, while the girls passed the time in “modest and creative” activities, such as hairdressing, manicuring and styling.

“We did not receive any calls from parents. We acted with the approval of the security personnel in the town. They brought the weapons and everything was conducted in complete safety,” said the camp director.

Shomron Regional Council members responded to parental and the communities concerns, saying, the exercise was for the educational benefit of the children and excused the incident as a way to celebrate "army day" in conjunction with the Israel Defense Forces.
