The announcement was made by Attorney General Tarek William Saab via social media, where he stated that a competent court had issued a pretrial detention order in response to evidence presented by the Public Ministry.
According to official statements, the charges stem from activities deemed by authorities to pose a threat to the country’s institutional integrity and civic peace. The Public Ministry emphasized its role as a constitutional guarantor of justice and human rights, affirming that due process protections enshrined in the Venezuelan Constitution will be upheld throughout the proceedings.
“The Public Ministry, as a guardian of justice and human rights, will ensure full compliance with the guarantees of due process established by the Constitution,” Saab stated.
The detention took place on Friday, and judicial procedures are now underway. While details regarding the location of detention and the presiding judge have not been disclosed, official sources maintain that all actions are being carried out in accordance with Venezuela’s criminal justice protocols.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to enforcing laws related to national security and public stability, particularly in cases involving foreign interference and the dissemination of content that may incite social unrest.
The case aligns with the government’s broader policy framework aimed at countering internal destabilization and safeguarding institutional legitimacy. In recent months, officials have underscored the importance of applying existing legal instruments to address threats to national cohesion.
No further details have been provided regarding upcoming hearings or the timeline of the legal process. The Public Ministry has indicated that updates will be issued as the case progresses.
