“We have a sentiment that encompasses us all: peace. Our intention is to preserve our sovereignty in support of peace in Venezuela,” he said.
During a press conference, Rodriguez emphasized that “we must all unite to work for peace in the Republic.” To this end, starting on September 20, sectoral councils will be established in all states where fishing activities exist, particularly in those areas that have been affected by the U.S. military deployment in the Caribbean Sea..
“Today we begin the establishment of the state and territorial councils for sovereignty and peace. We will establish the secretariats for the sectoral councils. Tomorrow, we will establish sectoral councils in the states of Margarita, Anzoategui, Sucre, Miranda, Aragua, Carabobo, Falcon, Zulia, and Yaracuy,” he said.
Rodriguez, who is also the president of the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, announced that three working commissions will be established, focusing on diplomatic, legal, and political matters.
“We ask everyone to join us in this work for peace in Venezuela,” he said, announcing that citizens will be able to communicate with the Council through a website, where various activities will be announced.
“We are forming networks in all countries to defend peace. There are many people in the U.S. who despise the warlike spirit of some. We will seek to contact them and speak with them to get them to join this effort for peace by the entire Venezuelan population,” the Bolivarian lawmaker added.
