She supervised the activation of all Bolivarian forces aimed at the comprehensive defense of the country’s eastern region. “As ordered by President Maduro, combat units are guarding our coasts, main highways and productive processes in strategic areas,” Rodriguez said.
During her address, the Bolivarian Vice President emphasized military–police–civilian unity as the central axis of the Independence Operation 200.
“Venezuelans are mobilized for peace, are ready for territorial integrity, and are prepared to defend our heroic struggle for independence,” Rodriguez said from Cumana, where she was joined by members of the FANB, the Bolivarian National Militia, police forces, and the Civil Protection system.
The text reads, “Bolivar’s people, today we make history. Operation Independence 200 has been activated from Caribia City in the state of La Guaira. On every beach, mountain, neighborhood, and sea, we will defend the sovereignty that belongs to us. Respect Venezuela!”
She stressed that the ongoing military deployment protects the nation’s Atlantic zone and the Essequibo territory. The Venezuelan vice president issued a warning to foreign governments “that lend themselves to the perverse plans of aggression against Simon Bolivar’s people and to destabilize the region.”
“To the governments subservient to the U.S. Department of War, the government of Trinidad and Tobago, and the government of Guyana: Take it easy. Do not dare, and do not even think about it,” she said, making a tacit reference to attempts to seize Venezuelan natural resources.
VP Rodriguez also reaffirmed the nation’s determination to protect its sovereignty in a permanent and peaceful manner against any threat or aggression.
