The Peninsula Shield Force units, affiliated with the Gulf Cooperation Council, entered Bahrain from Saudi Arabia to support security forces.
Local media also reported that Bahraini security forces detained some pro-Iran protesters. Based on information provided by the Cybercrime Directorate, the Interior Ministry accused them of sharing videos expressing sympathy for Iranian attacks, which it described as “serious crimes” against public security.
The developments come amid what Iran has called the 14th wave of the “True Promise 4” operation, which has also included drone and missile attacks against the U.S. air base in Bahrain.
The IRGC said 20 drones and three missiles were launched, “destroying the base’s main command headquarters,” Türkiye Today reported.
On Tuesday, the U.S. Department of State ordered the departure of non-emergency personnel from Jordan, Bahrain, Iraq, Qatar and Kuwait.
