The Cuban Justice Ministry highlighted the commemoration of Orange Day on its Facebook page. This day, observed on the 25th of each month, serves as a reminder of the commitment to building a society free of violence against women and girls.

The National Program for the Advancement of Women, approved by Presidential Decree 198 of 2021, forms the basis of state policies to guarantee equality.
The Protocol against Discrimination and Workplace Violence, established in Decree 96 of 2023, aims to identify, prevent, and provide assistance by training social actors and offering support to those who suffer harassment or discrimination in the workplace.
The Comprehensive Strategy against Gender-Based and Domestic Violence, approved in Agreement 9231 of 2021, integrates sectors such as health, education, and justice to provide a coordinated and prioritized response.
The text reads, “Orange Day against gender-based violence with the purpose of taking action and raising awareness to prevent violence against girls, adolescents, young people, and women.”
The Ministry emphasized that understanding these legal tools is the first step toward demanding their enforcement, and that taking action, staying informed, and preventing violence are the most effective ways to transform social reality.
Cuba is working steadily in the legal and social spheres to combat gender-based violence through public policies that promote equality and comprehensive protection.
In this context, the State maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward this phenomenon, coordinating inter-institutional actions that strengthen the prevention, support, and punishment of conduct that violates the rights of women and girls.
