Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodriguez reaffirms Venezuela’s readiness for a U.S. energy partnership, highlighting cooperation, oil sales, and diplomatic dialogue.


During an interview with the U.S. network NBC News in Caracas on February 12, Rodriguez ratifies the Bolivarian Government commitment to building a solid economy and a cutting edge energy sector.

Regarding that, Venezuela’s Acting President Delcy Rodriguez emphasized the country’s willingness for a long-term energy partnership with the United States.

Focused on international cooperation and the well-being of the Venezuelan people, Acting President Rodriguez stressed that Venezuela is going through a moment of strategic positioning, emphasizing that the country is once again positioning itself as a key player in the region.

In this context, she also confirmed that had received a formal invitation to visit the United States, which will be scheduled when the basis for mutual cooperation between both countries is consolidated.

“We’re contemplating coming there once we establish this cooperation and we can move forward with everything”, she revealed, in a signal of a significant shift in diplomatic engagement between both nations.

In this sense, the Venezuelan and the U.S. Governments have outlined a roadmap to advance on issues of bilateral interest, emphasizing diplomatic dialogue, mutual respect, and adherence to international law as foundational principles.

As part of this evolving relationship, Acting President Rodriguez hosted U.S. Secretary of Energy Christopher Wright at Miraflores Palace this Wednesday. Their meeting focused on the energy agenda between both countries, specifically exploring the establishment of a long-term productive partnership. Following the encounter, Rodriguez asserted that diplomacy offers a critical opportunity for both nations to overcome their historical differences.

“May diplomatic dialogue, political dialogue, and energy dialogue be the pertinent channels for the U.S. and Venezuela to maturely address how to continue moving forward, despite historical divergence”, Rodriguez expressed.

Secretary Wright praised Venezuela’s cooperation during an exclusive interview in Caracas also with NBC News . “Ronald Reagan said, trust but verify. We’ve been dealing with Delcy for five weeks now. It’s been an amazing cooperation”, he told the journalist Kristen Welker.

“I would say that cooperation is off to a tremendous start”, he affirmed.

Regarding to this assessment, Wright further revealed that over $1 billion in Venezuelan oil has already been sold, with an additional $5 billion in oil sales expected in the coming months.
