So far, more than 43,000 ballots have been counted, while the official vote count continues. 🔴 Preliminary data shows Keiko Fujimori in first place, followed by Rafael López Aliaga, with other candidates such as Jorge Nieto and Ricardo Belmont in further positions. These results are based on almost half of the polling stations counted. 🔴 More than 53% of the ballots remain to be processed, as the count continues. Additionally, delays were reported at some polling stations, which required extending the hours so that thousands of citizens could exercise their right to vote.
Keiko Fujimori of Popular Force (Fuerza Popular, in Spanish) is leading the vote, followed by Rafael López Aliaga of Popular Renewal (Renovación Popular, in Spanish). Jorge Nieto of the Good Governance Party (Partido del Buen Gobierno, in Spanish) is in third place, with Ricardo Belmont of Civic Party Works (Partido Cívico Obras, in Spanish) behind him.
Authorities also reported logistical delays affecting 211 polling stations, where the late arrival of electoral materials prevented more than 63,000 people from voting during the scheduled timeframe. As a result, voting hours were extended by one hour beyond the 6:00 p.m. local closing time at affected centers.
The vote count remains ongoing as electoral bodies continue processing the remaining tally sheets.
