Prior to the opening ceremony, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko visited the stands of the participating countries.
At the Cuban pavilion, the high-ranking official greeted those present, including First Deputy Minister of Tourism Jorge Alberto GarcÃa, the Cuban Ambassador to Moscow Enrique Orta, and the Tourism Counselor of the diplomatic mission, Cristina León.
Chernyshenko stated, “We have guests from 50 foreign countries. China is participating in the forum for the first time. And despite all the difficulties, we are pleased to welcome the representatives of the Island of Freedom: Cuba.”
The text reads, “Photo at the Havana Malecon! Cruise tourism has lost millions of dollars over the years due to the ban on entry of U.S. vessels, directly affecting the tourism sector and the Cuban economy.”
On the opening day, the organizers of the 6th International Tourism Forum indicated that the international presence opens up additional opportunities for the development of inbound and outbound tourism, the formation of new tourism ties, and the expansion of trade cooperation between countries.
As is customary, the event will feature working group meetings and bilateral discussions within the context of ongoing efforts to liberalize visa requirements, improve transportation accessibility, and launch direct flights.
The forum presents itself as an ideal venue to showcase both popular destinations and lesser-known but impressive locations, as well as unique tourism products and tours.
The central idea of the event is to highlight the tourism potential of all regions of Russia and foreign countries, the cultural heritage of nations, and the unique character of different parts of the world.
