Israeli attacks and evacuation orders expanded across southern Lebanon amid continued exchanges of fire with Hezbollah.
At least six people were killed in Israeli strikes across southern Lebanon on Sunday as the Israeli military issued a new series of evacuation orders in several southern areas, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).

NNA reported that two young men riding a motorcycle were killed in an Israeli air strike in al-Namiriya, while another young man traveling on a motorcycle was killed in al-Duweir.
In the town of Abba, an Israeli strike killed a Syrian national driving a motorcycle. Another person was killed in Jebchit. A paramedic also died in a drone strike in Arab Salim while inspecting the site of an earlier attack, according to NNA. In Bazouriyeh, in the Tyre district, one person was killed in another Israeli air raid.
The Israeli army issued 16 evacuation orders covering parts of southern Lebanon, while local sources reported that strikes were carried out both before and after the warnings were announced.
“These attacks are very violent, and they are targeting places that are filled with many people, homes and communities,” Al Jazeera correspondent Obaida Hitto reported from Tyre. He added that many of the targeted locations were not close to the frontline.
“We are seeing significant expansion of Israeli attacks,” Hitto said.
Rescue teams recovered three bodies from the rubble of a house destroyed by Israeli warplanes in the town of Srifa, in southern Lebanon’s Tyre district, NNA reported.
Hezbollah said it carried out several attacks targeting Israeli military positions and infrastructure during the day. The group stated that its fighters launched a drone strike against Israeli soldiers stationed inside a house in the Biyyada area of the South Governorate.
The group also announced a rocket barrage targeting Israeli troops in the town of Rashaf in Nabatieh Governorate.
The latest Israeli bombardment came amid ongoing tensions surrounding negotiations between the United States and Iran. Despite an existing ceasefire agreement, Israel and Hezbollah have continued exchanging fire in recent weeks.
According to Lebanon’s Health Ministry, Israeli air strikes in the country have killed 3,151 people and wounded 9,571 since the escalation between Israel and Hezbollah began in early March. The figures were cited by NNA.
Hitto reported that many civilians remained displaced and faced uncertainty over whether to stay near their homes in southern Lebanon or continue living outside the region.
Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem called on the Lebanese government to “reverse the decisions it has taken to criminalise the resistance”.
According to remarks cited by NNA, Qassem said recent US sanctions against nine people linked to Hezbollah “will only strengthen our resolve”, while criticising the Lebanese government for not taking a stronger stance against Israel.
