The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has denied U.S. State Department claims that it is preparing an “imminent attack” in Gaza and violating the recently declared ceasefire, labeling the allegations as “false” and echoing “Israeli propaganda.”

In a statement released Sunday, Hamas accused the United States of providing political cover for what it called Tel Aviv’s “ongoing organized crimes and aggression” against the Palestinian people. The movement insisted that the reality on the ground tells a different story, denouncing that Israeli forces are behind the creation, arming, and funding of criminal gangs responsible for killings, kidnappings, looting aid trucks, and targeting Palestinian civilians.

Hamas underscored that the Zionist regime itself has “openly admitted” these crimes through media reports and footage.

The U.S. State Department, meanwhile, stated that it had alerted the guarantor nations of the Gaza peace agreement to alleged “credible reports” indicating an imminent ceasefire breach by Hamas.

According to Washington, such an attack on Palestinian civilians would constitute a “direct and grave violation” of the truce, undermining months of diplomatic mediation. The statement threatened Hamas with possible “measures”.

Authorities in Gaza countered that Israeli forces have repeatedly violated the truce, reporting 47 breaches since the agreement was announced. Officials said these violations have killed 38 people and injured 143 others of varying severity, despite the internationally brokered agreement designed to halt Israel’s genocidal campaign in the enclave.
