Attack on displaced persons camp in Al Mawasi wounds 17 others, as ceasefire violations mount.

On Monday, Israeli occupation forces killed a 6-year-old Gaza girl and her 31-year-old teacher while they held class inside a tent in the Ghaith displacement camp in the southern Al Mawasi area of Khan Younis.

The attack also wounded 17 other people, who were initially taken to the camp’s Kuwaiti field hospital and later to the Naser Medical Complex in Khan Younis.

Minutes later, families of the children rushed to the attack site searching for their sons and daughters, many of them trapped under the rubble. The body of the 6-year-old girl, identified as Mena Nabil Abu Labda, arrived dead at the Naser Medical Complex.

A video shows young Mena, no longer breathing, as an adult tries to resuscitate her. Her teacher, Hanna Abed Al Naser Mahmud, 31, was the second fatality of the attack.

Journalist Moayen Al Dabba reported that the area was attacked without warning by two Apache helicopters that suddenly flew overhead and fired a missile at the Ghaith displacement camp.

“I arrived at the scene within seconds because I was nearby. The dead and wounded were lying on the ground,” he said.

Since the Gaza ceasefire agreement took effect on Oct. 10, 2025, Israeli occupation forces have killed more than 900 Palestinians and wounded 2,700 others, according to the Gaza-based Health Ministry.

During that same period, the bodies of another 777 Palestinians have been recovered. In total, Zionist forces have killed 72,800 Palestinians since the start of the offensive in October 2023. Among the victims of Israeli violence are over 21,000 children.
