Missile attacks will continue until Israel lifts the siege on Gaza.
On Tuesday, Yemen confirmed that its armed forces attacked the Dutch-flagged cargo ship Minervagracht with a cruise missile as it sailed in the Gulf of Aden on Monday.

Brig. Gen. Yahya Sari, a spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, reported that the missile struck directly, caused a fire on board and left the ship at risk of sinking. He stated that the missile attack was carried out because the company owning the vessel violated the ban on entry to ports in occupied Palestine.
“The operation represented a victory for the Palestinian people and a response to the crimes of genocide and famine in the Gaza Strip,” Sari said, pointing out that the attack also served “to reaffirm the continuity of the ban on maritime navigation linked to the Israeli occupation in the Red and Arabian Seas.”
“The Yemeni Armed Forces will continue to enforce this restriction in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait and the Gulf of Aden,” he stressed, warning all companies and vessels of the consequences of ignoring this measure.
Finally, Sari confirmed that the Yemeni Armed Forces will maintain their military operations until the aggression ceases and the siege on the Gaza Strip is lifted.
The Netherlands-flagged ship was attacked 120 nautical miles southeast of the port of Aden, on the southern coast of Yemen, in a new incident that raises tensions in one of the world’s most strategic maritime routes.
The same freighter was attacked on Sept. 23 while sailing toward Djibouti, which suggests it was under surveillance or in a sensitive maritime corridor.
“On Tuesday, the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority provided assistance to the survivors of the Minervagracht. The ship was carrying 1,077.81 metric tons of general cargo, including vehicles, trailers and containers,” the website Portal Portuario reported.
In recent weeks, the waters off the Saudi coast, particularly near Yanbu, have recorded intense maritime activity, with the presence of cargo ships, fishing vessels and international military units.
This increase in traffic and regional tensions raises the risk of further attacks or accidents in corridors vital to global energy supplies and trade.
