“After analyzing the international and national situation, we recognize Acting President Delcy Rodriguez for taking the country’s reins following the kidnapping of our President Nicolas Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores,” PSUV Mobilization Secretary Nahum Fernandez said on social media.

“In this context, we have spoken with social movements, political organizations, grassroots leaders and the people, who have always been present and consistently support the struggle of the Bolivarian Revolution.”

“We will remain in permanent mobilization in any scenario, with the indomitable character that defines the people of Bolivar and Chavez. Therefore, on Thursday, starting at 1 p.m., we will gather at the Museum of Fine Arts and march to the Miraflores Palace,” Fernandez said.

“We will carry our slogans in the struggle for peace to demand respect for our sovereignty and the immediate release of the presidential couple. We denounce their vile kidnapping and tell the world: We want them back! Maduro, hold on! The people support you!” the PSUV concluded.

Also on Thursday, Venezuela’s National Assembly convened the second debate on a reform of the Organic Hydrocarbons Law, a proposal submitted by Acting President Rodriguez aimed at encouraging foreign investment in the oil sector.

Among the reform’s main objectives is the incorporation of the model known as Productive Participation Contracts (CPP), which were created under the provisions of the 2020 Anti-Blockade Law to circumvent the economic sanctions imposed on the Bolivarian nation. Currently, Venezuela has signed 29 CPPs, including contracts with Chevron.
