Previously, on Nov. 20, the National Promoting Commission of the Working Class organized 22,110 grassroots assemblies across Venezuelan territory.
This vanguard movement, which emerges from workplaces and productive units across the country, was forged through an exhaustive democratic process. Workers elected three delegates per company and later chose municipal and state delegates who are attending the meeting in Caracas.
In an assessment of the grassroots assemblies, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro highlighted the scale of the Constituent Congress of the Working Class. “I believe the number of delegates will reach 100,000 men and women of our beautiful working class,” he said.
The text reads, ““A historic meeting with the working class! Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro shared with his fellow workers in a review of the upcoming Great Workers’ Constituent Congress. Numbers that speak volumes: 16,516 male and 12,374 female delegates elected, forging a new workers’ leadership. Assemblies as schools: spaces for training without dogmas or rigid frameworks. Presidential confidence: this 2025 the economy will grow by 9%, driven by the 13 economic engines! Integration with Colombia: The gas is on the border. We are moving towards a binational economy and the reconstruction of Gran Colombia! The Confederation of Workers’ Councils (CPTT) and the National Bolivarian Armed Forces (FANB): Keys to a new labor doctrine and workers’ organization. The four central pillars: A. Economy and Production: Sovereignty without dependencies. B. Organization: New workers’ structures. Let’s reshuffle the deck! C. Bolivarian Militia: Be on alert against the CIA! A thousand eyes, a thousand ears! D. International Commission: A solid team in action. Long live the Constituent Working Class! Ever onward to victory!”
“This event seeks to multiply the will and effort of workers through a powerful leadership that is emerging from the will of the grassroots,” he added, referring to the workers’ most recent achievements.
“The Venezuelan economy has recorded 18 consecutive quarters of sustained economic growth, despite the U.S. coercive measures,” the Bolivarian leader stressed.
He also recalled that the working class must educate itself, receive training, empower itself, remain conscious, and create solutions in order to maintain itself as a vital force in Venezuela’s new economy.
