She plans high-level meetings to strengthen political dialogue and economic cooperation.

On Tuesday, Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodriguez attended the debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

After arriving at the multilateral headquarters and receiving a protocol welcome from UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, she assumed representation of the Venezuelan state in the opening debates.

The institutional and diplomatic agenda planned for the Venezuelan delegation addresses several strategic areas included in the Bolivarian diplomacy’s commitment to peace and multilateralism.

Venezuela reaffirmed its adherence to the U.N. Charter principles, emphasizing the sovereign equality of states, self-determination, and rejection of coercive measures or external pressure in internal affairs.

Acting President Rodriguez plans to hold meetings with representatives of multilateral organizations and international leaders to strengthen political dialogue and economic cooperation agreements.

Previously, on Monday, she held a bilateral meeting with Guterres. Among other things, they discussed cooperation between the South American country and the multilateral system, focused on sustainable development, technology transfer, and social protection.
