Oil sector workers held a demonstration this Thursday in Caracas to express their support for the Partial Reform of the Hydrocarbons Law and to demand the release of President Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores.
The demonstration included the participation of employees from various operational areas of the hydrocarbon industry, who emphasized that the legal reform will strengthen production, attract investment, and consolidate the energy sovereignty of Venezuela, a country with the world’s largest hydrocarbon reserves.

The president of the Venezuelan National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, highlighted the people’s role in the reform’s approval and celebrated its unanimous passage by the deputies.
He also emphasized the determination of acting president Delcy Rodríguez to promote the development of the oil industry, assuring that this law will transform Venezuela’s oil reserves into a source of joy for the people.
For her part, Acting President Delcy Rodríguez thanked the legislators for their unity in defending national sovereignty with the unanimous approval of the reform to the Hydrocarbons Law.
“This law will transform Venezuela’s oil reserves into a source of well-being for the people,” Rodríguez stated.
The acting president asserted that the parliament is addressing the world to make it clear that the country will become an energy powerhouse.
She also expressed her gratitude for the support of Venezuelans in the struggle for the release of constitutional President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.

Ana Rodríguez, a worker in the sector, stated that this reform will translate into social well-being for our industry, for our people, and for the women and men of the nation. Rodríguez also stated that “we have withstood coercive measures and an asymmetric war, but we remain standing because we demand respect for our sovereignty,” and she called for the release of Maduro and Flores, emphasizing that “the working class keeps Chávez’s legacy alive alongside our president.”
Ángel Fernández expressed his support for Delcy Rodríguez’s leadership: “We have full confidence in the leadership of Acting President Rodríguez.” Her firmness and clarity on oil matters allow us to move forward with confidence. Venezuelan women support her leadership and her commitment to defending the country’s sovereignty and stability.
The Partial Reform of the Hydrocarbons Law seeks to adapt the legal framework to the new conditions of the global energy market, strengthen national production capacity, and expand mechanisms for state participation in oil management. It also aims to guarantee that the sector’s revenues translate into social welfare.
