Venezuela’s Acting President Appoints New Housing, Environment Ministers

Acting Venezuelan President Delcy Rodríguez appointed Paola Posani as Housing Minister and Nelson Rodríguez as Environment Minister on Monday, replacing Jorge Márquez and Freddy Ñáñez, while also naming Juan José Ramírez to lead the 1×10 Good Government System, according to official announcements on Telegram.
Posani takes over the Housing portfolio from Major General Jorge Márquez Monsalve, who had held the position since March. Nelson Rodríguez replaces Freddy Ñáñez, who had led the Environment ministry since January.

Rosinés Chávez, daughter of the late president Hugo Chávez, had served as president of Inparques since March 2024 and will now head the youth mission. Ramírez was previously the sectoral vice president of Public Works and Services.
Delcy Rodríguez highlighted Posani’s doctorate in Architecture and extensive experience in urban planning and public administration, expressing confidence that she will strengthen housing policies.
The acting president also noted Nelson Rodríguez’s background in strategic planning, forest management, and environmental conservation.
The 1×10 Good Government System, now led by Ramírez, was created in 2022 as a mechanism for citizens to submit reports, complaints, alerts, and proposals.
Regarding the youth mission, the acting president said it was created to support young people in their communities and provide new opportunities.
