Venezuelan Acting President Delcy Rodríguez met with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung at Miraflores Palace on Monday to review bilateral ties under their Strategic Cooperation Partnership.

The event followed a prior phone agreement between the Vietnamese minister and his Venezuelan counterpart Yván Gil to establish a joint agenda for the 2026–2030 period. Said agenda is designed to strengthen political trust, boost trade and economic cooperation, and broaden partnerships into new sectors, according to official statements from both governments.

Acting Pres. Rodríguez had previously visited Vietnam in October 2024, where both sides defined a “roadmap” to relaunch binational accords, timed to precede the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Caracas and Hanoi.

The Vietnamese delegation included Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long, Ambassador Vu Trung My, Director General of the Americas Department Le Chi Dũng, and Deputy Director Vo Tuan Ngoc. Venezuela was represented by Agriculture and Lands Minister GJ Vladimir Padrino López, Foreign Trade Minister Johann Álvarez, and Vice Minister for Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania Andrea Corao.
