The acting Prime Minister of Spain and candidate for re-election, Pedro Sánchez, predicted this Saturday that the “wave of the far-right,” which is already “crumbling” in Brazil and the United States, will also do so in Spain after the next general elections on November 29.

After canceling pre-campaign events due to the serious train accident in the country on October 28, in which 69 people died, Spanish parties resumed rallies today with calls for citizen participation.

Sánchez did so by asking for a massive mobilization to achieve a broad victory that would allow Spain to be “like Brazil and the United States” and to be “a beacon” against the far-right.

“I’m sorry for Feijóo and Abascal, who wanted to ride that wave (of the far-right),” he said, referring to the leaders of the conservative PP party and the far-right Vox.

“If we vote en masse, we will send Abascal home,” Sánchez said, before “telling the PP and Vox that Spain is not governed from Washington, Tel Aviv, or Moscow, but from Spain.”

Also, the candidate for the left-wing Broad Front party, former Barcelona mayor Ada Colau, called for massive mobilization to “turn the polls around,” as happened with Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Brazil.
