The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the significant progress in the country’s technological training in the development of the Great Science, Technology and Innovation Mission.
With the company of the Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, a new research space equipped with high-end electron microscopes was presented.

During his tour, President Maduro compared investment in science and technology to a seed that “grows and bears fruit,” and assured that this is the way to build “the powerful Venezuela.”
He also emphasized that all research must have as its ultimate goal the peace, life and development of both the nation and the peoples of the world. “May everything that is done be for peace, for life, and for the development of this infinite earth,” said the President, highlighting the humanist vision behind his government’s scientific and technological policies.
Minister Jiménez, for her part, pointed out that this investment is a “prodigious alternative” to create new capacities for analysis and product development. He also stressed the importance of linking universities, research centers, national industry and communities.
The acquisition of three microscopes with a resolution of 0.4 nanometers will strengthen research in crucial areas such as material analysis, biological samples, geochemistry and criminalistics.
This advance will have a direct impact on strategic sectors such as the pharmaceutical, metalworking, mining and military industries, consolidating Venezuela as a country with greater scientific and technological capacity.



President @NicolasMaduroMoros was amazed by the progress of the Great Science and Technology Mission Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán, which seeks to sow knowledge for the development of the country.
He then guaranteed that science in Venezuela has a humanistic and not a militaristic purpose. The President stressed that the country does not use scientific research for war purposes.
Instead, he emphasized that all the scientific and technological effort of the nation is oriented “to life, the well-being of the people and integral development, as an expression of human commitment and vocation for peace.”
With these statements, the Head of State reaffirmed the government’s focus on the use of science to improve the quality of life of Venezuelans, with a humanistic approach, prioritizing the well-being of the people and integral development.
In this context, President Nicolás Maduro announced the call for the 2025 National Award for Science, Technology and Innovation, an initiative to recognize the work of scientists, researchers and innovators who contribute to the country’s comprehensive development.
The award seeks to honor those who, with their work and dedication, promote the progress of Venezuela. The call is now open and those interested can apply until October 10, 2025.
