The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, participated this Thursday in a review of the “grassroots assemblies of the Constituent Congress of the Working Class,” a process that, according to the President, constitutes “a true workers’ revolution” in the country.
The event, held in Caracas, was attended by representatives of the labor sector and the Minister of Popular Power for the Social Process of Labor, Eduardo Piñate, who is also Vice President of Training and Ideology for the PSUV (United Socialist Party of Venezuela).

The President highlighted the progress of the constituent process. Since October 23, 10,289 grassroots assemblies have been held in 28 days, in which 30,689 delegates have been elected.
“This is a true workers’ revolution, this is the essence of our revolution: democracy, empowerment, participation, and the power of the grassroots. You must be aware, comrades, of the power that each of you possesses,” the Head of State declared.
The Constituent Congress of the Working Class, scheduled for December—coinciding with the anniversary of the Bolivarian Constitution—aims to refound and strengthen the Venezuelan labor movement.
The National Organizing Committee, sworn in on October 24 by President Maduro, has led the planning and execution of assemblies in workplaces at the national, state, and municipal levels.
Among the central themes of the debate that the delegates will address are: the Productive Plan, aimed at consolidating the 13 economic engines and achieving 100% import substitution; and the New Union Organization, to reform the union structure and guarantee labor rights in all sectors. Comprehensive Defense, focused on strengthening the Bolivarian Militia and the Combatant Corps; and the International Commission, intended to promote a future Latin American and Caribbean Congress of the working class in solidarity with Venezuela.
President Maduro also emphasized women’s participation in the process, noting that 43% of the elected delegates are women. “Women who bring fire, my friends,” he affirmed, highlighting this achievement as a milestone in gender inclusion in historically male-dominated spaces.
The Constituent Congress of the Working Class will have a central impact on the future of Venezuelan society, the productive process, and the construction of socialism. The president also emphasized the growth in women’s participation, although he acknowledged that men still represent the majority (57%) among the elected delegates.
The Bolivarian president urged the assembly members to creatively systematize the process in order to consolidate a new methodology for work, leadership, and organization from the grassroots level.
“We are building a program for the future from the working class, a program for the future of building the country, a program for the future of exercising the political power of the working class,” he concluded.
