Iran’s Supreme Leader rebukes U.S. president for ‘hypocritical’ human rights rhetoric.

On Friday, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urged U.S. President Donald Trump to focus on domestic American problems and accused him of having “hands stained with the blood of more than a thousand Iranians.”

Khamenei was referring to military commanders, scientists, prominent figures and innocent civilians killed by Israel with Washington’s complicit support during last June’s “12-Day War.”

In a national address, Khamenei said that instead of harassing Iran to distract from severe U.S. problems, Trump should focus on governing his own country – “if he is able” to do so. He emphasized that the “imperialist nation faces numerous internal problems” and that various incidents are currently unfolding.

He noted that Trump supported the Zionist’s aggression against Iran and now attempts to sell a narrative that he protects the human rights of Iranians or is “a supporter of the Iranian nation.” The Iranian leader urged citizens not to credit U.S. rhetoric.

Khamenei addressed protests inside Iran over the country’s economic situation, describing them as generally peaceful, though in some cases organized groups from abroad have sought to exploit them to provoke riots and destabilization. He said these rioters “vandalize national property and please the U.S. president.”

“Iran will not yield to those who commit acts of vandalism” and will not “tolerate those who act as mercenaries for foreigners,” Khamenei said, calling on youth to “preserve national unity” and stating that “a united nation can defeat any enemy.”

Recently, Trump threatened to attack Iran again if protesters are repressed. “I’ve made it clear that if they start killing people … we’re going to hit them very hard. If they do it, they’re going to pay hell,” the U.S. president said in an intimidating tone.

According to press reports, protests over the adverse economic situation, inflation and the devaluation of the Iranian rial are being encouraged by economic sectors, including merchants.

Iranian authorities have confirmed armed attacks in the cities of Tehran, Lordegan, Chenaran and Kermanshah, resulting in the deaths of several security agents.

At least 21 people – including protesters – have died during the protests. Security forces have dismantled several terrorist cells, seized weapons, ammunition and equipment for making explosive devices, and detained riot leaders linked to Israeli intelligence services (Mossad).

Hours earlier, police reported that a neutralized terrorist cell in Lorestan was preparing a false-flag operation to indiscriminately kill civilians and then blame the Iranian state, contributing to destabilization and Western condemnation of Tehran.

In addition to providing financial and military support to Israel to attack Iran, the White House bombed Iranian nuclear facilities – Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan – which are peaceful in nature and were under international supervision when attacked.
