A Lebanese municipal official was killed and several others wounded on Saturday in a new wave of Israeli airstrikes and drone attacks across southern Lebanon, including the Jezzine and Nabatieh regions, after the Israeli military ordered residents of roughly twenty towns to evacuate despite a fragile ceasefire and ongoing diplomatic progress between the United States and Iran, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (ANN) and state media reports.
The deceased was identified as Ali Badi, the administrative officer of Al Rayan town, who died in a strike on Jezzine – one of the hardest‑hit areas in the morning bombings. Israeli drones also targeted the municipality of Qasiba in Nabatieh, while warplanes launched three strikes near a military checkpoint in Kfarhouna, also in Jezzine.

In the same vicinity, a drone attacked an employee of the Lebanese electric company while he was watering his crops; he was injured and taken to a hospital. ANN further reported artillery fire from multiple positions occupied by Israeli troops in southern Lebanon.
The Zionist army justified the escalation by accusing resistance group Hezbollah of violating the fragile ceasefire that took effect in April and has been periodically renewed without being fully respected.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for two attacks against Israeli troops and vehicles invading various points in southern Lebanon. The broader violence, which began on March 2 within the context of the Iran‑related war, has killed more than 3,700 people in Lebanon alone, according to Lebanese authorities.
