The Network of Intellectuals and Artists in Defense of Humanity warns of dangerous escalation in U.S. actions targeting Venezuela and its leadership.
The Network of Intellectuals, Artists, and Social Movements in Defense of Humanity (REDH, in Spanish) condemned on Monday the U.S. State Department’s decision to label the alleged drug trafficking network, “Los Soles Cartel,” as a terrorist organization while attempting to link it to Venezuelan state institutions.
REDH denounced the move, calling it “entirely unfounded and yet another episode in the U.S.’s unilateral coercion policy against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”
The organization stressed that “this recurring practice represents a dangerous and reckless escalation in U.S. aggression, aimed at undermining the sovereignty and constitutional stability of the peoples in our region.”
Likewise, REDH rejected the U.S. plot aimed at overthrowing Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
Highlighting the ongoing pattern of such actions against free nations, the communiqué read: “The international community has overwhelmingly condemned the persistent campaign of harassment, economic blockade, and threats against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, denouncing the unnecessary risks these warlike practices pose to peace and international coexistence.”
U.S. Growing Presence in the Caribbean
By November 12th, the U.S. deployment in the Caribbean already exceeded 15,000 personnel, marking the largest military buildup in the region in three decades.
U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced “Operation Southern Spear” on November 13th, claiming that “the Western Hemisphere is America’s neighborhood”, acting under direct orders from President Donald Trump.
The imperialist operation came in the wake of a series of U.S. attacks on vessels in the Caribbean Sea that have left dozens of civilian casualties.
