The assault claimed at least one life in the Belgorod region, where Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported that a drone struck a vehicle, killing a man. Five additional people were injured in the city of Korocha, located approximately 50 kilometers northeast of the regional capital, he said.
In the neighboring Bryansk region, Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported that three people sustained injuries in the attacks.
According to defense officials, the main thrust of the Ukrainian offensive was concentrated on the Bryansk region, where air defense units shot down 62 drones. Meanwhile, 43 drones were destroyed in the wider Moscow region, with 40 of those reportedly targeting the Russian capital itself.
Air defense systems also intercepted 28 drones in the Krasnodar region and 18 over the Crimean Peninsula.
The overnight barrage follows a significant Ukrainian drone offensive the previous day, during which Russian defenses reportedly shot down 145 Ukrainian aircraft.
