Delcy Rodríguez to Receive Insignia as Commander-in-Chief of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces

Padrino López announced that the acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, will receive the insignia of the highest military authority from the various components of the Armed Forces.

The Vice President for Defense and Sovereignty, Vladimir Padrino López, reaffirmed this Wednesday the support of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) for the acting president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, who will receive the insignia accrediting her as commander-in-chief of the military institution.

In a message broadcast via his Telegram channel, the high-ranking military official emphasized that the FANB will act in accordance with the Constitution and the recent interpretation issued by the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), and confirmed that the leadership of the military establishment will remain under the leadership of the acting president.

Padrino López announced that a highly symbolic ceremony will be held during the day to formalize Rodríguez’s command, in a context he described as decisive for the country’s republican history.

Referring to the interim president, the minister emphasized her legitimacy, both in origin and in practice, as well as the full support of the military institution for the defense of the country, the preservation of peace, and the promotion of reconciliation and democracy.

The Minister of Defense also called for unity and coherence as essential principles for safeguarding national independence.

He asserted that, despite the attacks of January 3 and the kidnapping of the constitutional president, Nicolás Maduro, the country’s stability is guaranteed thanks to the commitment and discipline of the uniformed personnel, whose role is strengthened by the civil-military alliance.

With the planned ceremony, the National Bolivarian Armed Forces (FANB) not only reaffirm their recognition of Delcy Rodríguez as acting president but also commit to supporting the Executive Branch in defending the stability, peace, and well-being of the Venezuelan people.
