China dispatched two shipments of humanitarian aid to Lebanon, supporting civilians affected by systematic Israeli aggression.
China’s Ambassador to the Arab nation, Chen Chuandong, confirmed the delivery of emergency supplies, which include food, tents, blankets, and hygiene items to Lebanon, amdist Israeli attacks that have caused a severe crisis, displacing hundreds of thousands and killing 2,702 since March 2.
Chuandong stated this assistance aims to alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Lebanon, reaffirming Beijing’s unwavering commitment and the long-standing friendship between the two countries.

The Ambassador emphasized Chinese support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, stability and unity amid the ongoing conflict. This diplomatic gesture comes as China’s representation to the UN Security Council has consistently denounced the ineffectiveness of the ceasefire agreement, established on April 17, due to persistent violations by Israel.
Text reads: “Today, accompanied by the Minister of Social Affairs, Haneen Al Sayed, and Brigadier Bassam Nabulsi, Secretary-General of the Lebanon High Relief Committee, I received two shipments of humanitarian aid from the Chinese Government at the port of Beirut.”
Despite international calls for a cessation of hostilities, Israel’s military aggression has continued unabated. This has led to a profound humanitarian crisis across Lebanon, particularly in its southern regions.
The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) highlighted the severity, stating at least 380 people have died since the April 17 ceasefire was announced. This underscores the widespread destruction of homes and basic infrastructure.
Ceasefire Ignored
Lebanese authorities have praised China as a “reliable friend” during this critical period. This contrasts sharply with international frustration over Israel’s continued assaults.
Despite diplomatic efforts to extend the truce until mid-May, the reality on the ground indicates an escalation of Israeli military operations. Israeli media reports reveal a significant shift in military tactics.
The Israeli army now prioritizes the systematic demolition of villages in southern Lebanon. This strategy focuses on achieving large-scale damage and widespread destruction rather than direct combat.
Simultaneously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faces considerable pressure from military factions. These groups advocate for formally abandoning the cessation of hostilities, suggesting a further hardening of military policy.
The Health Emergency Operations Center, under the Lebanese Public Health Ministry, has meticulously tracked the casualties. It provides precise figures of 8,311 injured from March 2 to May 5, underscoring e the devastating human cost.
Furthermore, Israel has not only maintained its military presence in historically occupied zones but has also advanced its strategic positions in southern Lebanon. The ongoing offensive highlights a pattern of defiance against global diplomatic efforts, exacerbating an already fragile regional situation.
China’s aid serves as a vital lifeline and a diplomatic statement, reinforcing its commitment to supporting developing nations and promoting regional stability from a South-South perspective.
