A bloc of Arab and Islamic countries issued a joint communiqué rejecting Israel’s recent measures in the occupied West Bank, particularly the registration of land or its designation as “state land” for the first time since 1967, which constitutes a “grave escalation.”
The Foreign Ministries of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, and Turkiye considered that these measures “attempt to impose a new legal and administrative reality designed to consolidate (Israeli) control over the occupied (Palestinian) land.”

The statement added that the measures are seeking to undermine the two-state solution, eliminate the possibility of establishing an independent and viable Palestinian state, and threaten the prospects for a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
According to the Israeli Ministry of Justice, the objective of the measure, approved last Sunday, is “the registration of extensive areas” in the West Bank in the name of the State of Israel.
The Zionist entity occupied the West Bank during the Six-Day War of 1967, along with other Arab lands, such as the Syrian Golan Heights and the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula, although the latter was returned to Egypt after the 1973 war and thanks to the peace agreements between the North African country and Israel (1979).
The Arab and Islamic countries insist that the only solution to the long conflict in the Middle East is the creation of an independent Palestinian state in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, with its capital in East Jerusalem.
“The Foreign Ministries call uponthe international community to assume its responsibilities and take clear and decisive steps to halt these violations, ensure respect for international law and safeguard the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them their right to self-determination ending the occupation, and to establish their independent and sovereign State on the lines of June, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital,” the statement from the eight countries concluded.
